Oldest film footage of London found!

 

Film footage of London from 1890 has been found which is purported to be the oldest every film footage of the city. The video below includes footage from 1890-1920 of 46 locations and features many recognisable London sights such as the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s, Monument and Downing Street, which apparently didn’t have any gates in 1920!

What’s amazing is that some of these places have hardly changed a bit! The video includes some helpful maps to show you where the location of the current film clip is.
